Pisces

My Gramma Tootie was a real collector (bless her soul). Last summer my mom gave me an old brown paper sack (and one to my brother too) that apparently gramma had saved for us. She did this a lot with things, but she must have forgotten to give them to us when we were younger, as we have received several of these "gifts" since she passed away when I was in college.

Anyways, in the brown paper bag were a number of clippings from the day I was born. How sweet is it that my Gramma Tootie would clip little things for each of her grand kids and put them aside to show us when we grew up.

So here is my horoscope from the day I was born...dated in Gram's handwriting...it totally fits.
That's all I'm sharing from my brown bag tonight...

Congrats~

Congrats to Kris and Don and their new baby, Vaughn. He is a cutie!
Choochie asks me everyday if this is the day we are babysitting...

Baseball

Baseball and Softball officially kick off tonight for the Osto family. There are 24 games from now until June 12. This is the time of year my kids eat like street urchins with a diet consisting of pop tarts and hot dogs as we run from school to the ball diamonds on many nights. This is the time of the year when I leave a bag packed in my truck with umbrellas, blankets, extra sweatshirts, sun screen, snacks, gatoraide and camp chairs. This is single parent time as poor Osto can't make it to many of the games due to that "always-getting-in-the-way-of-fun-things" thaing called Work. Damn that work.

It is CRAZY BUSY time but it should be a lot of fun this year.

Hoping to post some action shots soon!

Women

My posting has been lacking. Let me recount my weekend.

Even though the concert has been postponed til August, we made up for it by going out to dinner with our friends and then came back here for cocktails, conversation and (of course) Guitar Hero. I must say that my female friends rock. They are such a beautiful, smart, talented, inspirational and funny bunch of people. I am always impressed with their views of things and I swear I gain some new appreciation for something or another after being around them. They are tough, strong and have fabulous looking men to boot!

So here's to you Jen, Amy and Karyn!

(I'd post a picture or two, but they didn't turn out so great).

Saturday and Sunday's gorgeous weather brought the typical spring cleaning - you know the dreaded windows and screens, car cleaning, yard work, etc.

Finally, who can resist puppy pics....Marley is 15 pounds now! Here she is with her favorite bear.

Happy Birthday

I wanted to say an official "happy birthday" to two lovely people who celebrated their bdays this past week. Since I am such a slacker on my blog, these are unfortunatelty a little belated.

Happy Birthday to Jenna Bear - we will celebrate in "style" on Friday at the concert. Maybe George will sing "Pour Some Sugar On Me" to you so you will feel really special. If not, I will. =)

Happy Birthday to Bobo - thanks for all you do for us and the kids. We all love you!

What happened to Patrick Swayze's face?

All I can say is this should be a post for plastic surgery gone wrong...gross.
I should actually post Meg Ryan here too.

Who would you?

Since it is the last day of my pseudo vacation and I haven't really "relaxed" I decided to spend part of it curled up with my warm puppy watching the Food Network. I have decided that I am in love with Tyler Florence. Or maybe it is his pork loin with chimichurri sauce, roasted potatoes with garlic aioli, fresh strawberries with sweet sour cream and red wine sauce that I fell in love with?

I love Osto and all, but I told him to his face I should have married a chef. Can you imagine someone cooking like that for you every night? I know I would weigh 200 lbs, but who cares!?

So I asked him who he would marry differently if he had free choice (by profession, not by specific person)? I suggested maybe a swimsuit model or a masseuse? He thought maybe a lesbian or a surgeon. HA! I guess we all have our priorities!

So what profession would you marry if you had your choice?

Spring, it finally arrived

In Michigan sometimes we still have snow until May. Last week we had some flurries, but this weekend, it seems we've finally found our spring. The evidence is in the earth - the tulips, daylillies, irises, and sedum are popping up. The trees are getting buds. The birds have returned in full force to awake me at daybreak with their twitterpating.

We spent Saturday cleaning up the yard and the majority of today cleaning out the garage. Of course, there were lots of other "to dos" on the list, but they will have to wait for another day. Kids riding bikes, puppies chasing a soccer ball, warm runs without heavy clothes, and a nap in the sunshine all had their place today too.

Ahhh spring, what took you so long!?!
