School's out - at least for the three year old's!

Chooch finished three year old preschool last week. He had a little program. Here are some action shots from the little end of year program they presented...

Weekend Festivities

We had the CAMP OSTO camp opener on Sunday! It was great to get up north and kick off the summer fun. We had to do some spring clean up and spruce up the place a little, but things were intact from the winter. No critters, just lots of dead bugs. Pump is working, all things with engines are running, lawn mowed, couple of trees trimmed, and lots of mosquito bites to prove our hardiness! Can't wait for more...

...and Chooch turned four on Sunday, May 26. He is such a big boy now!

We also had a Memorial Day barbecue at Brother Osto's. They opened their pool and the kids were brave enough to take the plunge.

Kenny

Big thanks to Bobo and Nana for helping me out Thursday for the Kenny Chesney Concert.
T-Bird and Cal, Bobo and I had a great time. What a show! If you ever get a chance to see him, you will appreciate why he was Entertainer of the Year for the last four years in a row. Two hours of our favorite tunes. Leann Rimes opened the show. Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland made an appearance. Plus it was the first concert for the kids. They had a blast!

Patiotime = Summertime

For years Osto and I have talked about ripping the old deck off the back and putting in something new. First is was a new deck, then we decided last year it would be a cement slab. I designed a rounded patio with a fire ring and this week our crew went to work on the installation. They poured it on Friday and will be back next week to add stairs and finish it off. I can't wait for our first party next weekend on the new patio!

Vacation?

I leave tonight for a two day work conference. Even though it will pretty much be a giant time sucker (I have SO many other, more interesting, better, more important, time sensitive, mission critical things I could be doing), I'm looking forward to it for three reasons...

1) Westin - its all about the Heavenly bed sleep experience baby! nuff said.

2) Monday night's entertainment is a trip to the casino. Now wouldn't it just be the icing on the cake to score my windfall at a work conference?

3) I'm traveling with a co-worker who is also a really good friend. Good girl chit chat time.

The end.

Happy Mother's Day and race update

Happy Mother's Day!

I especially want to say Happy Mother's Day to my Mom. I love you! I wish I could be spending today with you, but you will be in my thoughts! Also to Nana Osto ~ thanks for all you do for us. I'm very lucky to be blessed with great moms!

So to all you moms out there - new moms, old moms, and to all those people who support moms - Happy Mother's Day. Have a great day!

The race on Saturday went well. It was crazy to be running with 4900 other people (that was just the 5K - there were 16,000 runners in all events). I've never experienced any thing like that, it was like being a human river. It was a little difficult to find some space and get going at first. People would stop in front of me or change their line and I'd have to dodge one way or another probably disrupting someone behind me. All in all, I finished slower than I would have liked, but I ran the whole way and felt great. It was definitely different. I'd like to run another one in June or July.

Running on empty

Osto and I are running a race on Saturday. I have known I was running this race since last year, but I still feel so unprepared both physically and mentally. My last two runs felt a lot better, so maybe I'm finally getting to where I should be. It isn't very far - only a 5K - but somedays that feels like a hundred miles. My goal is always to run a personal best, so stay tuned...

Keep Running!
